Ukraine Conflict: U.S. and Russia Meet for Renewed Peace Talks in Saudi Arabia

The US and Russia commenced fresh negotiations in Saudi Arabia on Monday, aiming to reach an accord on settling the situation in Ukraine and establishing a truce in the Black Sea region prior to finalizing a comprehensive understanding.

The discussions come after a meeting took place between the United States and Ukraine in Saudi Arabia on Sunday.

Previously, Trump had telephone conversations with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday.

As reported by the local news outlet Al Arabiya News, the United States' team is headed by Andrew Peek, who serves as a senior director at the White House National Security Council, and Michael Anton, a high-ranking officer from the State Department.

A consultant for the head of the Federal Security Service stated that Russia is represented by Grigory Karasin, who chairs the Federation Council's Foreign Affairs Committee and has previously served as a diplomat, alongside Sergei Beseda. (Xinhua/NAN)
